A background in food manufacturing both in the UK and internationally, Simon spent the first 30 years of his career with global brands such as McVities and Anchor.

His other business interests involve healthcare, house building and food catering.

He was the Interim Chair of London Athletics before joining the newly formed Board of British Performance Basketball in 2007.
