Despite the senior women not being in European action this summer they will still be present at camp and it is consequently proving to be the one of the strongest training rosters pulled together, with players ranging from current established internationals to prospective London 2012 starters.
"I'm looking forward to meeting the players and having the opportunity to work with them," said Maher.
"Having the opportunity to compete at the World University Games is great because it offers young players the chance to experience what it takes to compete at a large multi event, which is invaluable, especially with the Olympics on the horizon.
"Some of these players are coming off of the back of long seasons, but it will be good to see where everyone is at."
Performance Director of British Basketball, Chris Spice, added: "This summer offers our under 20s and World University Games players the opportunity to show what they can do and keep themselves at the forefront of our minds for next year's senior programme.
"It will also offer a great chance for the younger players to learn from the older, more experienced ones which we have previously been unable to coordinate due to campaign schedules."
