Charlotte Stoddart lead the way with 13 points and 7 rebounds while Mary Durojaye pulled down 8 boards and scored 9 points. Other key contributors were Leah Dehann with two huge three pointers and Kashmere Joseph and Harriet Yea chipping in5 points each.

GB hung with Greece from the start and found themselves only down three points at the end of the first quarter. The second quarter was scrappy and ugly as each team only managed to score a combined 13 points in the quarter, ending with the Greek team leading 20-18 at the half.

The third quarter proved to be GB's best as they held Greece to only four points with their first basket coming with only 2:00 minutes to go in the quarter. GB rattled off a game high 18 points in the quarter and went into the fourth leading 24-36.

Greece would not go away quietly however as they continued to fight in the fourth, pulling as close as within six points. But Great Britain would not be denied and held their composure after weathering Greece's serge.

They will play the second game Friday at 6pm.
