"There have been some real positive points to be take from this game. The reintroduction of Andrew Lawrence has bought more leadership to the team - we must continue to build on this over the next two games in this three game series as we prepare to host the French in Southend next week," said head coach Tim Lewis.
It was a better team performance with signs of improvement with regards to offensive team play - there was better spacing, passing and shot selection.
Lewis was pleased by a good points spread and the welcome return to the squad of Andrew Lawrence following injury.
Initial pressure from the home team's aggressive defence and quick transitional play was negated by GB raising their own intensity and domination on the boards.
The teams meet again tonight at a game in the city centre following an annual youth basketball camp at 6pm local time
