Ivkovic issued a statement on the veteran guards which said: "With all the players we are in constant contact. If basketball players inform us that they have problems with injuries, they are under the supervision of the medical commission.
"So it is with Vuleta Avdalovic and Igor Rakocevic. After a review was conducted, it was concluded that Avdalovic's fitness, after an exhausting season in the ACB league, requires a longer rest and inactivity. Therefore, there are only small chances for him to be found in the composition (of the team).
"As for Rakocevic, it's necessary to carry out another review and then we will have the final decision.
"Everything will be known by July 13 when the team gathers and begins preparations for the European Championship in Poland.
"For all the invited players, preparations begin at the same time and there has not been talk about the possibility of (players) joining preparations later."
Serbia are in Group C of the EuroBasket and will go up against Slovenia, Spain and Great Britain.
Their main aim is to qualify for the 2010 FIBA World Championship.
To do that, the Blues need to have a top six finish in Poland (top seven if 2010 hosts Turkey are in the EuroBasket top six).
