As a result, they are now in the three-team play-off for the 9-11th places, but the Britain coach is determined to finish on a high: "We'll go out there wanting to end the competition with a win. It's a bit disappointing that we've only got one more game, because they girls are hungry for games to show what we can do."
Britain's result against Austria is carried forward to the classification games, but Lara-Bercial would have liked to start from scratch in the play-offs, and have an extra game: "We'd have been happy not to carry the Austrian result forward and play them again."
With only one game in four days before Britain return home on Thursday, the British coach still intends to use the time properly: "We'll find useful ways to use the time. The girls need a clear understanding of what they need to do if they have the ambition to play for the senior team, and we can work on things in the next couple of day. We'll make sure we use the time constructively."
Macedonia and Austria meet on Monday, with both teams looking for their first win of the competition, and with Britain having hammered Austria, it would take a disastrous set of results to finish below tenth place.
GB go into the game with Harriett Yea leading their scoring with 14 points per game, while Tamzin Barroilhet and Mary Durojaye each averaging 8.8 ppg. Barroilhet also averages 2.2 steals per game to lead the team, while Durojaye is pulled down an average of 8.8 rebounds.
