British Basketball is looking for a home for training camp, test matches and EuroBasket matches, although not all of the matches are to be played in one location.
The campaign will succeed, in part, due to a successful partnership between British Basketball and a local council, venue and/or club.
Requirements:
• Accommodation: of good quality, with meal, laundry and meeting room provisions. For approximately 3½ months for 25 - 30 people.
• Court: 2 adjacent sprung wood basketball courts.
• Backboards: non-fixed boards made of clear Perspex, fully functioning score boards and shot clocks above boards, or if this is not possible floor mounted shot clocks
• Training: typical training day 10am-12 morning training, 3pm-5.30pm afternoon training. Access to court everyday for full training period at these times, plus group access (exclusive is ideal) to gym before training and ad-hoc individual access at all other times.
• Strength and conditioning facilities, including cardio and weights.
• Exclusive storage space on site for water, lucozade, balls and kit.
If the venue were to host EuroBasket matches, it must meet the following FIBA regulations:
• The court dimensions of 28 m x 15 m and at every point, at least 2 m from the advertising boards and all obstructions.
• The height of the ceiling or the lowest obstruction shall be at least 7 m above the playing court.
• All the specifications for level 2 competitions must be met (supplied upon request).
• Ideally not more than 100 km from the nearest International Airport.
