The GB Standard Life team centre put in a fine performance scoring a game high 18 points, snatching five rebounds and making three assists, all in 30 minutes of game time. Betts stepped up to the line 11 times converting eight after causing chaos in paint.
Aris have been struggling to put together a string of wins in their domestic league and January’s game results do not break that trend. They started 2010 strongly defeating Olimpia 79-62 in the first week, where Betts scored 17 points in just 25 minutes of playing time. But with a weak offensive effort from Aris, week two saw them beaten 60-48 by Panellinios, with Betts scoring just eight points in 34 minutes.
This Saturday Aris are in for another tough game as they face Maroussi away. Maroussi are currently third in the league with a 10-2 record, led by Panathinaikos and Olympiakos both on 11-1.
