Despite still recovering from a knee injury Boyd is expected to join his new team-mates on Monday 25 January as the club prepares for their home game against Plymouth Raiders on Thursday 28 January.

The Dartmouth Ivy League graduate had so far this season been without a club after a 13-game stint with the Leicester Riders last season. In fact his last competitive action was for GB at the Eurobasket in Poland, where he featured in all eight games, averaging 4.3 points.

Boyd started his professional career in 2002 at French Pro A club Le Havre, he then played French Pro B with Mulhouse and Nantes, followed by a two year spell with Rosalia in Spain, before joining the GB team last summer.
