GB Standard Life forward Luol Deng and the Chicago Bulls have clinched the last remaining NBA playoff spot with a 98-89 win at the Charlotte Bobcats yesterday.
The Bulls put in a strong performance from the tip-off, scoring the first eight points of the game, converting 13 of their 22 shots in the opening quarter and returning to the locker room at half-time with a 57-43 lead.
Chicago never trailed in the game and led the Bobcats by as many as 18 points. Deng finished with 11 points, two assists, two steals and a rebound in 32 minutes of court action.
The Bulls will now face Eastern Conference top-seeds the Cleveland Cavaliers in the playoffs having closed the season with a three-game winning streak to eliminate the Toronto Raptors.
