Finch was presented with his award by the NBA D-League President Dan Reed prior to last night's Vipers 137-110 victory over the Austin Toros in game two of the playoff semifinals at State Farm Arena, tying the series one a piece. The decisive game three will take place tomorrow, again at State Farm Arena.

About receiving his award, Finch said: "I'm very honoured to receive this award and, as with any individual reward, it's a reflection on everyone else around you. From our assistants to our players to our ownership and management, both locally and in Houston.

"Moving to the NBA's D-League and working and learning alongside NBA coaches has proven to be very beneficial to my overall development as a coach. I'm looking forward to our upcoming GB campaign and implementing a few new things I am hopeful we can benefit from."

Finch has had a very successful first season at Rio Grande Valley, leading the team to its first 30-win season and serving as head coach for the victorious Western team at the 2010 NBA D-League All Stars game in Dallas.
