The Hatters came out strong in the second half increasing their lead to 40-30 with three minutes of the quarter remaining, but the Archers came back once again narrowing the gap to 40-38 with less than a minute left, before the Hatters stretched their lead to five, going into the final quarter 43-38.
The two teams continued to trade baskets with the Hatters keeping the lead 48-44 at the mid-point of the final quarter. The Archers once again fought back to level the scores at 48-all and eventually took the lead for the first time with just 67 seconds left on the clock, a lead that they would hold on to to secure the 52-56 victory.
GB Standard Life guard, Stef Collins, was named MVP after scoring a game-high 17 points and eight rebounds, while her fellow GB and Archers teammates, Meagan Hoffman and Kate Butters, added 13 points each, plus eight and seven rebounds respectively.
This is only the Hatters second loss of the season and means they miss out on completing the domestic treble by adding the play off trophy to the League and cup double which they had already secured. GB Standard Life and Hatter teammates, Rosalee Mason and Lisa Hutchinson each scored 8 points.
