Having watched his side destroy Norway 83-47 in the opening game of the second stage yesterday, coach Lewis knows his team face a difficult challenge today:
"I've seen bits and pieces of them" he said. "They're a big, strong team and play the transition game well. We expect a war when we play them, but we'll be up for it."
With Poland having played in the first round's only five team group, Tuesday's game will be their sixth in as many days and Lewis is hopeful that his team can take advantage of that: "Our transition game is really picking up, so we'll make them run and hopefully the amount of games they've played will hurt them down the stretch."
The Poles did show signs of tiredness as they were made to fight all the way before beating Belgium 84-72 on Monday evening to collect their fifth straight win in the competition. They finished third in last summer's competition, missing out on promotion after a 79-66 semi-final loss against the Czech Republic.
Alex Marcotullio sat out Britain's victory against Norway, but Lewis is hopeful the guard will return against Poland: "Alex had a bang on the knee, but we thought he'd be okay for Monday's game. In the end, we decided not to play him and hopefully he'll be okay now and will be some use to us against Poland."
