Tim Lewis and his team now have a day off to pick themselves up before facing Portugal in the first stage of the 5-8th place play-offs.
Alex Marcotullio led GB scoring for the first time in the tournament, finishing with 17 points, three steals and as many rebounds. Will Neighbour added 14 points and seven boards, while Andrew Lawrence added 12 points, five steals and three rebounds, and Ovie Soko finished with 12 points, eight boards, six assists and three steals for GB.
Michal Kozár led the Slovaks with 23 points as they were consigned to a bottom place finish in the group.
GB never trailed as Marcotullio and Jamell Anderson put them 4-0 up with the first baskets of the game, and a 16-0 run capped by a Nigel Van Oostrum trey gave GB a 24-8 lead with 2:37 remaining in the first period.
Oto Ulman broke the run of GB points, but Lawrence sunk a pair from the line to send GB into the first break with a 26-15 lead.
Ali Mackay extended that lead to 13 with the opening score of the second period, and when Ryan Martin hit a jump shot with 8:18 on the clock, GB were 31-15 ahead.
That lead grew to 40-19 when Lawrence converted a lay-up with 3:50 remaining, and GB were never in trouble as they went into the locker room leading 45-27.
Neighbour opened the second half scoring, and although the Slovaks won the third period 22-19, a Soko dunk helped keep GB 63-49 ahead going into the final break.
Soko drove to the basket for the first score of the fourth period, and although a Kozar dunk cut the lead to eight with 6:49 on the clock to force a timeout from Lewis, GB quickly recovered as Neighbour made it a ten point game going into final five minutes.
Will Hall converted one of two free-throws to extend that lead before Myles Hesson effectively wrapped it up with 3:13 on the clock when he converted an and-one.
The GB team then had to sit and watch as Austria's defeat against Poland saw Lewis and his team denied a spot in the semi-finals.
Poland led by ten points heading into the final four minutes and Austria pushed really hard to get within four points but just couldn't do GB the favour they needed.
