"Behind the Czech Republic this will be our toughest opponent yet" he said.
"They pressure the ball permanently, so the Israeli's have been perfect preparation, but that does not make the task ahead anymore easier.
"What is at stake for both countries is about creating history. I'm told neither country have had a junior age group in the top flight since the current FIBA Europe tournament structure has existed so there is not only a country to play for in a semi-final but a long-term legacy to begin."
Jennings has a good idea what to expect on Saturday evening: "Portugal boast three top level guards (Maria Correia, Michelle Brandoa and Joanna Bernardeco) for this age group who can all shoot the 3, and handle the ball.
"Their largest threat lies in Sofia Da Silva, a 1m 89 skilled player. She is ranked in the tournament under all stat categories but she is particularly dangerous on the boards, finishing from the block and at the foul line. She has caused problems for every team Portugal have played and compliments the scoring guards well.
"If there is a weakness at all it is their reliance on very heavy minutes from 5/6 players, but when it comes to a one off game that is the difference between Division A promotion and staying-put in Division B this is possibly clutching at straws.
"More tactically their defensive transition looks to lack structure or any given rules in scramble situations so no doubt our current desire to push the break will not change."
Portugal have swift work of their opponents in the opening five games of the tournament. Only Slovakia managed to keep the defeat inside single figures, as Portugal finished top of the group with a perfect record and Belgium were quickly dispatched 59-40 in the quarter-finals to set up today's showdown.
