Earlier in the year Gordon had to pull out of the EuroBasket qualifier games in August due an ankle injury but he will be jetting into Liverpool on Thursday from Detroit, where he plays for the Pistons, to support former Chicago Bulls team mate, Luol Deng, and the rest of the GB men's and women's teams.
Performance director Chris Spice commented on Gordon's attendance in Liverpool: "We are delighted that Ben is able to join us to support our teams on what is arguably the most important day in British Basketball's history. I know how disappointed he was to be ruled out this season with injury and him taking time out of his rehabilitation programme to visit us shows how committed he is to joining GB next season."
GB Standard Life men will be taking on Bosnia and Herzegovina while the GB women face Germany, where wins for both guarantee their spots in Lithuania and Poland respectively:
"A win for both teams at the Liverpool Echo Arena tomorrow will seal their places in EuroBasket tournaments in 2011. I have no doubt Ben's attendance will give our squads a real boost as we seek to achieve this crucial milestone on our way to Olympic success."
