The Bulls then headed home to host the Bobcats on Saturday where they once again showed their strength to win 95-89. Deng had another strong game adding 22 points to his side's victory.
The Bulls have another action packed week as they face New Jersey tonight, Indiana on Wednesday and Milwaukee on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons had mixed results over the weekend as they hosted two games. When Memphis visited on Friday they grabbed a 98-81 win. Ben Gordon added ten points to the Pistons final score line but it wasn't enough to defeat the Grizzlies. Their second game of the weekend saw the Pistons clinch a close 94-91 victory against Portland. The game saw the Pistons snap their four-game losing streak and they will be looking to continue their form as they face Oklahoma City tonight and Miami on Wednesday, then Atlanta on Friday.
In the BBL, the Leicester Riders also had mixed success in their weekend of action. They began with a dominant performance at Mersey Tigers on Friday night, winning 85-66. The Riders kept their grip on third place in the BBL Championship table following the win where Standard Life GB player Drew Sullivan grabbed 13 points.
On Saturday, the Riders faced their rivals, the MK Lions and were defeated 77-75. The Lions snapped their run of back-to-back league defeats with their victory meaning that despite a very close and exciting comeback from the Riders they fell to their first league defeat in five games. Sullivan collected 12 points for the Riders who face Glasgow on Saturday.
The Sheffield Sharks were defeated by BBL Cup winners, the Newcastle Eagles on Friday night as they soared to an 86-67 victory. The Eagles remain top of the Championship following the comfortable win at Sport Central. In the final period a Nate Reinking basket for the Sharks got them to within 12 points at 71-59 but that was as close as the visitors would get in the contest before the Eagles kept their noses in front and enjoyed their biggest lead of the game at 86-67 to pick up the all-important victory. Reinking ended on 18 points for the Sharks who take on Worcester on Friday evening.
