Chris Spice, Performance Director of British Basketball, said: "Ron has played a key role in driving our basketball programmes forward during the past two years and I'm delighted that his new position gives him the scope to take them even further.
"In particular he has been crucial in developing and maintaining strong relationships with the home nations, which is fundamental if we want the sport to continue to grow. British Basketball has a great opportunity to not only perform well in London 2012 but also to provide a significant legacy from our Olympic performance. In Ron, we have an extremely capable leader who has the credentials to meet our challenges ahead. I look forward to working with him during this exciting time for basketball in Britain."
Following a year at UK Sport Wuotila was appointed Performance Manager of British Basketball in 2007. Wuotila added: "It has been clear from the start that basketball has a huge opportunity to blossom due to London 2012 and so I'm delighted to be named Head of Basketball Operations during this exciting period.
"We will continue to strive for the best possible programmes for our players, coaching staff and federation as a whole which in turn will hopefully provide the platform for our success."
