"This year, more than previous years, it is going to be so important that teams can make the most of their home court advantage,"€ said the 26-year-old.
"After hopefully winning our first game at home and then that game against Bosnia we would really send a message that we are team to contend with.
Also hoping to return to Birmingham with the GB team is Chicago Bulls star Luol Deng, who impressed the crowd last year, and his Bulls teammate Ben Gordon.
Sanders continued: "The supporters should expect to see the best GB team that has ever been put together. The team this year is going to have so much talent on it, with top players that play in the best leagues around the world.
"Looking at the team squad, there are 33 players that are all good enough to play at the international level, so the coaches are all going to have a tough job ahead of them selecting the team."€Â
At the forefront of that task is head coach Chris Finch who was also delighted to hear that GB will be playing in Birmingham.
He said: ""I liked the NIA last year. There was a great atmosphere and the more places we can return to this year the better.
"We are going to use our home preparation to try and prepare for that game."€Â
Councillor Ray Hassall, Birmingham City Council's Cabinet Member for Leisure, Sport and Culture added: "We are delighted to welcome back the British men's basketball team, following Birmingham's successful hosting of the home tie against Slovakia last year.
"We know that these games are crucial for the British team as they strive for qualification for the London 2012 Olympic Games and this match will be another important stepping stone on this journey.
"I'm sure the people of Birmingham will come to support the team and create a great atmosphere at the NIA, which is a world class arena for sport."
