Yea harbours a long-term goal of competing at London 2012 but first Great Britain need to qualify and that Olympic path has led them to Cardiff, where they will play four games against top European opposition this summer.

The opening home game at the Welsh Institute of Sport is against Lithuania on August 20 and Yea is excited at the prospect of earning her first GB cap in front of her Welsh mother.

"To be in the senior women"s squad is a real achievement for me. I am very excited at the thought of hopefully getting my first cap for Great Britain at 19. I"m looking forward to playing with very experienced players who I am sure I will learn a lot from over the summer.

"For me personally it will be great as my mum is Welsh and so I have a strong connection with the country. I know that she is going to be really proud of me playing for Great Britain in Cardiff."€Â
