While Archibald can empathise with Deng's position, having had to sit out of last year's campaign through injury, he is confident that his GB teammates will step up to the task in hand.
"I am comfortable being one of the main players in the team this summer," said the 29-year-old.
"I've been playing professionally for a few years now and at a good level. Certainly there are going to be guys who have to step up with Luol not being able to play but with my experience and knowing what I can do I'm confident I can step up.
"Luol has been a big part of what we've achieved so far, so it's difficult not having him but you can't miss what you don't have.
"We have enough players with talent so there are definitely going to be guys who can step up, but it's important to always remember we are a team.
"Already from two years ago it's evident we are continuing to take steps forward by the way things are done.
"Game On At The O2 is a big milestone for the programme, it is asking for us to be able to host a tournament and bring in high level opponents, which we've done.
"Last year's game there was great, I was watching, but this tournament is certainly a monumental marker."
Archibald will suit up alongside Joel Freeland for the first time this summer and next season the British pair will also play together as Freeland has signed for Archibald's Unicaja Malaga.
"I was very happy with how my season went last year. I think playing a lot of minutes and being a starting centre for one of the top three teams in Spain is an accomplishment and I want to keep getting better.
"It will be a great opportunity for Joel to go up a level next season a chance for him to keep on improving as he will be working with better players everyday and a great coach.
"It will also be good for GB because it helps with consistency as the relationships we bring into camp help speed up the process of gelling as team."
Newcastle Eagles' Tafari Toney is set to join Chris Finch's training roster while Andrew Betts has momentarily left the training camp owing to personal issues.
