"He's going to hospital in Warsaw," said Katzurin, "so he's definitely out for Sunday's game. it's a tough to make decisions until he has been seen by a doctor, but we suspect it's a bad injury."
Without talisman Gortat, the Poles struggled throughout the game, and will now need to beat Turkey by at least 15 on Sunday to stand any chance of winning the tournament.
The Poland coach was clearly upset with how his team had played on Saturday afternoon: "I was very disappointed, it is something that can happen when you play back-to-back games.
"The only positive is that we enjoyed meeting a lot of Polish people who live here, but basketball-wise it was not fun today.
"It's tough to explain but we had no energy, no power. We were poor on defence, and execution, and I guess it was not our day today."
When asked if he could take any positives from how the Polish team played, Katzurin joked: ""you saw a Polish team today?
"The players tried their best, but I think it was all about situation with Gortat. That sounds like an excuse, so I don't want to say too much about it. Israel played well, especially [Tal] Burstein who hit six from six from outside. They got a lot of shots, and we need to do better on Sunday. "
