"We've have liked to have won the last game, but we played hard and I think three games in a week caught up with us a bit. We missed a lot of shots that we had been making, but that's minor at this point, the important thing is we build on the success we've had a prove that qualifying last time was no fluke."
With six wins from their eight qualifying games, Finch is now looking forward to next summer's finals in Lithuania:
"We're capable of winning some games out there" he said. "I think we were as good as any of the teams in the qualifiers this summer, and we can beat some of the teams who are currently playing in the World Championships. We need to get our best team together and perform well next year."
GB's 75-66 in Ukraine on Sunday didn't stop them topping Group B, but it may have cost them a third seed in next year's finals, but Finch refused to be downhearted about that:
"We were pushing hard for a third seed, but randomness of draw means we shouldn't be too disheartened. It's down to how well we play next summer."
GB had a relatively short warm-up this summer, and Finch was happy with how that worked for his team:
"Given the circumstances it worked for us, and we tried to tailor it around things we can and cannot control" he said.
"With the early start of the tournament games, we wanted to rest the players and it helped focus us - sometimes a long warm-up can leave you a bit flat at the beginning.
"Next year will be different as we'll have a four week preparation, then a two week season. With three games in three days, we'll have to be ready."
